Amanda joined Woods Whur in 2019 and has since successfully completed her training contract, qualified as a solicitor, and progressed to Partner within the firm.

Amanda specialises in the highly regulated and rapidly evolving betting and gaming sector. With extensive experience across multiple jurisdictions, including several US states and European markets, she has developed strong working relationships with gambling regulators, enabling efficient and seamless licensing and regulatory processes for clients.

Amanda advises both operators and suppliers on navigating complex compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements. She supports a wide range of businesses in relation to operating licences, from securing new licences to defending existing licences against regulatory action. Amanda has significant expertise in compliance matters, particularly compliance audits, regulatory reviews, and the preparation of policies and procedures across all sectors of the gambling industry.

She also works closely with key personnel at international iGaming operators, managing personal disclosure applications across multiple jurisdictions.

Amanda serves as a Director of the Lotteries Council and is actively involved in the lotteries sector. She advises a diverse portfolio of lottery operators throughout the UK, ranging from major international charities to independent organisations.

In addition to her gambling law practice, Amanda advises on alcohol licensing, tax-related licensing matters, alcohol licensing and sexual entertainment venue (SEV) licensing.

Amanda is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has represented clients at regulatory hearings in jurisdictions around the world.
